Advanced Spreadsheets Tools is a 2-credit SEC (0 lecture +0 tutorial +2 practical, Theme 17 Sl.88) under UGCF 2022, offered in Semesters 3–5 and verified for 2025-26 as a fully practical paper. The official PDF organises it in four timed blocks: Unit 1 Excel Advanced Techniques (3 weeks) — templates, Standard Deviation/Variance/Coefficient of Variation, Data Validation, lookup/power/array formulae, advanced range names, Goal Seek/Data Tables/Scenario Manager and the Data Analysis ToolPak with Solver and regression for projection; Unit 2 Excel Interactivity and Automation (4 weeks) — Index/Match, Offset, dynamic charting, database/text/error functions, form controls and basic VBA with absolute/relative macros, loops and UserForms. Units 3 and 4 complete it: Unit 3 Introduction to VBA (4 weeks) on conditional formatting, charts that inspire (Waterfall, Thermometer, Histogram), Slicers, Sparklines and graphics tricks, and Unit 4 Data Analysis and Decision-Making (4 weeks) on external data, advanced PivotTables, PowerPivot/Power Query, dashboards and applied sheets for loan/lease, ratio/payroll, NPV/IRR, breakeven and optimisation. A DU-specific verified detail is the printed marking scheme on page 3: Total 100 — Internal Assessment 25, Practical Exam (Internal) 25, End Semester University Exam 50 — with Internal Assessment left to faculty. Students lose marks because they revise by reading PDFs; the paper is marked on file work and viva, and a workbook without Ctrl+~ formula views, without a working Goal Seek or Solver model, or without a PivotTable-driven dashboard scores low even if definitions are memorised as taught in 2025-26.
