This is the 2025 Semester Study Material for Economics — Delhi University DU & College under the UGCF/NEP framework. Free to view on Sulaksh.
Economics Honours at Delhi University under UGCF 2022 is a mathematical and diagram-driven programme across 8 semesters, starting with Introductory Statistics for Economics (ECON003, Sem 1: descriptive stats, probability, distributions, sampling with Devore as principal text) and progressing through Intermediate Micro and Macro, Mathematical Methods, Econometrics and Indian Economy papers. Sem 1 builds the statistical foundation — population vs sample, measures of location/variability, probability, random variables (Uniform, Binomial, Exponential, Poisson, Hypergeometric, Normal, Bernoulli, Geometric), covariance and correlation — before later semesters add IS-LM, consumer equilibrium, elasticity, national income and policy. Each DSC is typically 4 credits (3L+1T) with 75 marks theory + 25 internal or 90+10, where 40% weight is numericals. Examiners check formula, substitution, units and labelled diagrams; one correct AD-AS or indifference-curve diagram with 2-line explanation often carries 8/10. Students lose marks on rounding (intermediates to three decimals, finals to two) and on answering without contiguous new-page sections — presentation rules from the Economics minutes matter as much as calculation.
Study notes for Micro DSC1 Extra Notes Part 6 — Economics your semester (UGCF 2022), organised in DU's taught order.
