Where to Find the DU Syllabus for Your Course

By Sulaksh Editorial · Reviewed by Lakshmeshwar Pandey · Updated · About · Contact

DU’s syllabus moved to the UGCF/NEP framework, and outdated PDFs still circulate everywhere. Here is where the current one lives, how to read it without getting lost in 300-page PDFs, and how to pair it with PYQs so you know what gets asked.

Official Source First

The university publishes the current syllabus on the DU website. The catch: it is split across dozens of PDFs by department and often buried under “UGCF 2022” or “NEP Structure” links. Look for your programme (e.g., B.Com (Hons), BA (Hons) Political Science), then your semester DSC list. The paper code (e.g., DSC-1, DSC-4) and the four unit titles are what matters, not the 40-page reading list.

The Easy Way

On Sulaksh, every subject’s page pairs its syllabus with matching PYQs and notes — so you see exactly what to study and what gets asked. For example, open Economics Sem 3 and you will see Syllabus, PYQ 2024, PYQ 2025 and Notes in the same folder, in DU’s taught order. That pairing is deliberate: the syllabus units become the headings for notes, and PYQ mapping tells you which units repeat.

How to use the syllabus for marks

Don’t read it linearly. Copy the four unit titles in order, make one page per unit with heading, 4-5 bullets and one diagram or table, then immediately solve one PYQ from that unit. The “Learning Objectives” and “List of Readings” sections are where examiners lift short-note questions verbatim — if you can explain each learning outcome in two lines, you are exam-ready. Tick each outcome after you finish a unit.

DU SOL vs Regular — same syllabus?

Yes — DU SOL follows the same UGCF syllabus as regular colleges for GE/VAC/SEC/AEC and core papers. The PDF content is identical; only the exam timing may differ. If you are SOL, use the same semester folders on Sulaksh and verify your paper code with the SOL handout.

Study tip: Copy the Unit titles in order, make one page per unit, and run the 10-minute PYQ mapping technique — mark which Unit each past question came from to see where to focus next. Time-box each Unit to two days. Verify from your college handout.
